I am a fashion designer and artist and I run the brand ALICE FINE, focused on natural dyeing. My interest in natural dye began after a number of years in the fashion industry where I decided to explore sustainable ways to dye textiles. I wanted to work more artisanal, in a small scale. And I wanted to show that it is possible to create strong, vibrant colours and patterns, without chemicals. Working in symbiosis with organic materials and textiles has become a way for me to question production processes, the consumer society and the value of a garment. The results are unique plant-coloured garments and objects full of inherent power from nature. I teach natural dye because I want to share this magical world full of colour we have around us. It is also a great way to give new life to an old garment that has lost its colour or become stained.
