Portrait: Jennie Dahlen
Tthe sustainability pioneer weving together fashion and farming
Jennie Dahlen lived and breathed fashion, with unlimited access to clothing—until one day, an avalanche of unworn garments tumbling from her wardrobe became a wake-up call. Determined to make a change, she co-founded a clothing swap that quickly gained momentum, attracting 400 attendees at its first event and facilitating over 40,000 garment exchanges in four years. Today, she educates others through lectures, workshops, and her digital course Get Started with Mending, using her studio in Gamla Enskede as a hub for learning and inspiration. But sustainability extends beyond fashion; her latest project, Äppelgården in Slöinge, transforms an old apple orchard in Halland into a vibrant learning space for gardening, cultivation, and crafts. Here, slowness and mindfulness take center stage—just like in her wardrobe philosophy. For Jennie, sustainability is all about mindful choices, and her journey now continues, from textiles to soil, with the same passion for a well-considered way of living.

Stories Through Windows, Photography, and Design
Lovisa Furubo is more than a creator – she is a visionary who breathes new life into forgotten spaces and materials. She merges traditional craftsmanship with sustainability, embracing a philosophy where the existing is honored, its beauty restored, and its story allowed to continue. Best known for redefining window restoration in Sweden, she works with timeless materials such as linseed oil paint and putty to preserve both craftsmanship and soul. When she fell in love with a dilapidated turn-of-the-century school in Ölvingstorp, a lifelong passion for building conservation and the beauty of reuse was awakened – a love that permeates every project, photograph, and space she creates. Lovisa’s approach is more than just a technique – it is a way of life, where sustainability and aesthetics are seamlessly woven together. Through courses and workshops, she shares her knowledge, inspires thousands, and paves the way for a more sustainable future.
