Fatburen - the secret lake (Södermalm)
A city walk around the lake Fatburen, which became the setting for the author Niklas Natt & Dags book in 1793, where a corpse was found. At the end of the 1850s, the lake was filled again in connection with the construction of the railway and Södra station. Experience the neighborhoods around the lake with the joy of storytelling and a knowledgeable guide. You walk in a historic garden, visit the pillar hill and see where Hotel Göteborg was located. The demolitions of the 60s and 70s provoked strong reactions, the many holes were now replaced with architecture from the past as inspiration; postmodernism. You see its architecture around Fatbursparken and the Södra station area. The city walk ends above the shoreline of Lake Fatburen at the Maria Magdalena church.

Ps during the cold season - dress warmly, it's colder to stand and listen than when you're out walking by yourself. Warm feet and hands are most important. The walk ends at Maria Magdalena church.
Stefan Maurbakken
Authorized tourist guide and Health care guide. I organize Forest Baths and City Walks in Stockholm, Uppsala and Västerås. I love combining experiences with the pulse of the city and the peaceful atmosphere of nature. Walking from a noisy city with many impressions one day and crawling through bushes and grass and hugging trees the next allows me to replenish my store of energy.
