Pottery class - 6 weeks
In this class you will learn the basic techniques in pottery: coil making, pinching, slab making and wheel throwing. This class is suitable for both beginners and more advanced. We meet in a calm environment in our studio in kungsholmen, we always start the class with some coffee/tea and snacks. Ceramics is a relaxing hobby but its easy to bring the stress from your everyday life. Our goal besides teaching is that you would be able to relax, have a swedish fika, and let your creativity flow.
You'll learn
- We go through coiling, you can build larger pieces with coils
- We go through pinching and slabmaking
- We go through the technique of wheel throwing.
Included
Introduktion in group and personal guidance. 1,5 kg stoneware clay, Slip, glazing and firing. If you want more clay you can buy it for 85kr/kg. Coffee and snacks A good time!
Structure
Total time 18h, divided into 6 occasions
Class 1: We go through av pinching, coiling & slab making. Class 2: Introduktion to wheel throwing and make textures. Class 3: Introduktion slip and underglaze. Class 4: Continue working on your pieces. Class 5: Finish your pieces. Class 6: Glazing About 3 weeks after finished class you can pick up your pieces.
Please note
BRING WITH YOU: -Inside shoes/slippers. -Comfortable clothes. You get to borrow and apron. NOTE: If you would miss a class because of sickness och travel we unfortunately can not make up for that time on another occasion
