Workshop: Introduction to Riso printing
Come and try riso printing and make your own 2-color posters! Our basic course in riso printing is suitable for everyone, regardless of creative skill level. We'll walk you through what a risograph is and how you can use this wonderful, absolutely amazing but somewhat awkward technique to create colorful and vibrant prints with real ink! At the workshop we focus on working with digital files and you will learn the basics of how to work with riso printing in different programs. You need to bring your own computer or iPad to participate in the workshop and have a fairly good grasp of the programs you choose to work in. Each participant makes a poster in two colors that we print together. You get 10 copies to take home with you. Fika is included! After you've concluded the workshop you are eligible to join Riso Community Studio, a platform where you can use our studio and equipment to work on and print your own projects. Structure
1 occasion, 4h
Case 1: Introduction to risography - lecture on the history of printing technology, technical conditions and the worldwide risography community. Task: to work with gray scale. Case 2: Review of more digital tools and ways to prepare their files. Task: Make a two-color print (A4 items). Case 3: Digital tools and methods for producing print originals from an existing image. Assignment: Make a three-color print in any technique – illustration, photography or collage. Case 4: Closing. On this occasion, we talk about how the last assignment went and take questions related to the course and risography.
Please note
Fika is served during the workshop. The fika is always vegan. Please notify us of any allergies. Accessibility: The studio has two steps up to the front door, toilet half a flight up. Dog stays in the studio on weekdays but not during the workshop. The workshop is aimed at adults. You must be 16 years old to participate by yourself. Younger people are welcome with an adult. In that case, please email us before you book.

BEAST Studio is run by Li and Robert. The studio has been working with risography since 2013. Li and Robert are trained graphic designers and have versatile knowledge that can help you create fine prints!

You will find our studio in cozy Kirseberg! It's easy to get here. Cycle path all the way from Värnhemstorget. City bus 4 to Kirseberg's church. City bus 31 and 34 or regional bus 130 to stop Kirsebergsskolan. Train to Östervärnsstation. Plenty of parking in the area that you pay with the apps Parkster, EasyPark or ePark.
