Folk inspired wool embroidery
Welcome to a course for those of you who are curious about wool embroidery. In course we go through the basics of embroidering with wool yarn. During the workshop, you get to make a stitch library in the form of a sample patch with inspiration from traditional Scanian wool embroidery. In addition to the sewing techniques, the course also includes all the peripheral work, such as using an embroidery frame, finishing and tips for assembly. You'll learn everything you need to continue embroidering on your own - once you know the basics, you can embroider almost anything!

Luisa is a textile artist with a penchant for reuse, traditional techniques and the extra nerdy stuff. Since 2019, she has been running Lararium where, in addition to offering courses, she does consulting in cultural history and traditional crafts, as well as working with her own textile art projects. She has a MA in Cultural Studies and has also worked with project and process management in various forms. She has carried textile craft with her all her life, with alternating focus on crafts like knitting, sewing, handspinning and embroidery. Luisa sees the process itself as at least as important as the final product. That through the work of your hands you learn more about the material and the techniques than you can ever read about. Luisa offers workshops in several different textile techniques, all with the goal that you create a finished item with your own hands and that in creating you can let your head take a break for a while.
